Indo-Canadian wins bronze medal for wrestling

Amar Dhesi took home a bronze medal at the NCAA Division 1 National Championships in the 285 pound weight class. 2016 Olympic Champion Kyle Snyder won gold in that class.

This competition has about 500,000 athletes. While Dhesi was attending Oregon State University, he won two PAC-12 Championships and two All-American Crowns, which are awarded to the top eight wrestlers in the States.

He was the first member from Khalsa Wrestling Club that won a full scholarship to an NCAA Division 1 School.

Dheshi hopes to compete in the 2020 Olympics to be hosted in Tokyo, Japan. He will be wrestling for a spot on the Canadian World Team this year in July, at the Canada Cup tournament held in Toronto.
