Insuring your path to success

In the 1990's, Perminder Chohan had recently emigrated from India and was working at a plastics company in BC when he was laid off.
Afterwards he moved on to launch a plumbing company, and later several cellular phone stores.
He sold these stores before moving into direct selling and marketing.
It wasn't until the late 1990s, that he found his niche in the insurance business when he started working with Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network. He became their top manager within the year.
Chohan has now released a book, UNcommon, to help others in a similar position to find success in business.
“I came to Canada from India with no business background. If I can achieve it, anyone can. You just need to take those first steps,” he said.
The book compiles thoughts of business leaders, including Chohan and author and sales trainer Brian Tracy. Chohan’s chapter in the book says that success requires hard work, sound planning, action, perseverance, and humour.
“The book is designed to educate anyone interested in combining common sense with uncommon knowledge to avoid the many pitfalls and challenges that can often provide obstacles in growing a career, business and life,” Chohan said.
“It’s my hope, that through my more than 17 years of experience in the financial and insurance industry, that I can pass on some of my tips and practices to help anyone looking to conquer their Dreams with Deadlines,” he added.
During his career, Chohan has influenced and mentored hundreds of people. His leadership and guidance helped insurance and financial leaders achieve their goals. Chohan was recently a featured guest on The Brian Tracy Show which aired on NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX affiliates.
