Parkinson Society British Columbia kicks off Parkinson’s Awareness Month with its third annual fundraising gala, An Affair to Remember with Rasheda Ali, daughter of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali on  April 3 at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver. 

 
The event will begin with a champagne reception at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. The evening’s live and silent auctions will offer an array of more than 100 items, including jewellery, weekend getaways, glass art, and specialty wines.  There will also be music by the king of swing, Dal Richards and his seven-piece combo.


Rasheda Ali is an international speaker who has traveled the globe, including London, Madrid, Australia, New Zealand and Canada to create awareness and give encouragement and hope to families struggling with Parkinson’s disease. In her media appearances, she has helped organizations raise funds for Parkinson’s research. 


She is the author of the book, I’ll Hold Your Hand So You Won’t Fall; A Child’s Guide to Parkinson’s Disease. 


Parkinson’s disease (also known as PD) is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that often impairs the sufferer’s motor skills and speech.
