BC Sindhi's celebrate new year

The Sindhi Association of BC (SABC) recently celebrated their new year on first full moon day of Chaitra month (known as "Cheti Chand") as per the Hindu calendar.

According to the lunar cycle, new year fell on April 7th, the evening on which the SABC hosted their event at the Durga Mandir in Surrey.

A special offering was prepared for 'Jhulelal' (The God of the Sea) which included preparation of a Puja Thaal.

The group also sang Sindhi devotional songs, performed Sindhi traditional dance and served wide variety of authentic and delicious Sindhi food with special Thaadal (drink) and Boondi (sweet).
