WHAT: The 2007 Ismaili Walk for Kids WHEN: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 WHERE: at Lumberman's Arch in Stanley Park WHY: raise funds for dozens of Lower Mainland Success By 6 programs that strengthen services for young children and families Photo/Footage Opportunity: a family festival, kids, music by ABBA Cadabra Approximately 2,500 people will be at Lumberman's Arch in Stanley Park on Sunday, Sept. 9 to join the 2007 Ismaili Walk for Kids. The Ismaili Muslim Community of B.C. and United Way of the Lower Mainland have teamed up to help give children age 0 to 6 the foundation they need to get a good start in life. The walk will raise funds for dozens of Lower Mainland Success By 6 programs that strengthen services for young children and families. The five-year partnership will have raised more than $1 million for children throughout the region. This year's event features a 7-km walk, a 3.5-km children's walk and a family festival complete with prizes, an auction, and music by ABBA Cadabra. The 2007 Ismaili Walk For Kids is a partnership of the Ismaili Muslim Community of B.C. and United Way of the Lower Mainland. The event is presented by Coast Capital Savings. United Way Success By 6 is a joint initiative of United Way, Credit Unions of BC, the BC Government through the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and community leaders.
