Thousands to celebrate over $1 million raised to support Lower Mainland children at Ismaili Walk for Kids on Sunday, Sept. 9

Approximately 2,500 people will be at Lumberman's Arch in Stanley Park on Sunday, Sept. 9 to join the 2007 Ismaili Walk for Kids.

The Ismaili Muslim Community of B.C. and United Way of the Lower Mainland have teamed up to help give children age 0 to 6 the foundation they need to get a good start in life. The walk will raise funds for dozens of Lower Mainland Success By 6 programs that strengthen services for young children and families. The five-year partnership will have raised more than $1 million for children throughout the region.

This year's event features a 7-km walk, a 3.5-km children's walk and a family festival complete with prizes, an auction,  and music by ABBA Cadabra.

The 2007 Ismaili Walk For Kids is a partnership of the Ismaili Muslim Community of B.C. and United Way of the Lower Mainland. The event is presented by Coast Capital Savings.

The Ismaili Walk was founded in 1991 by the Ismaili Muslim Community of BC and benefits a local non-profit organization.
