Re: ‘Mary Kay’s pink gospel converts China’s women’, Dec 22, 2005
This is so awesome that our leader and role model Mary Kay Ash has reached the women of China and they are practicing and using teachings (The Golden Rule) and methods just like we do here in Texas. This is spreading love all around the world and showing women we are special and beautiful human beings.
Shirley Vargas, Payroll & Acc. Manager, Fort Worth, Texas
For a western cosmetics company to be making such a difference in women’s lives in a culture where women have not even been allowed to wear makeup is truly astonishing.

Re: ‘Battered victims twice over’, Dec 22, 2005 ( APP online)
Women should be united in fighting to change Canada’s immigration policy. We heard lots of stories that a sponsored husband abused the sponsor but yet immigration officials are blind and refuse to take action. I believed that it is about time to make changes in our crooked immigration system to protect the sponsors and the victims.

Re: ‘China’s "pregnant guerillas" pay the price for second child’, Dec 22, 2005
Who knows what amazing discoveries in medicine and science these aborted children could have brought to the world. These children could be adopted and bring great joy to childless couples. Dear China, please protect your parents. Please dont abort your little ones. Please let the people of the world adopt your babies!
Linda Rivera, New York
China only needs to open up its borders to allow the over flow of people to settle in other countries. There are many wide open areas around the world that could be populated. Also more mechanization would reduce the need for larger families. China’s one child policy is against the Creator’s design and against common sense.
Ric Trexell,Berlin, Wisconsin
I’m not sure which is more sickening. That Chinese communists cause food shortages for which they created these oppressively stupid and tyrannical laws like the one-child policy or the fact that people actually believe these laws are for the greater good. People need to wake up. Population control is people control. It’s time to show the communists the door.
Mike Villao, Business owner, California
I was horrified to read the story of Zhang Yulan and her family. This article reinforces my disgust with the Chinese government’s one child policy. I urge my fellow Americans to join me in boycotting Chinese products, which are being made by slave labor and the exploitation of the Chinese worker. Just say no to China!
David Jaques,Southern Oregon
The only thing more wicked than America’s abortion policy, which allows mothers to murder their pre-born babies is China’s policy, which forces mothers to murder their pre-born babies!
Leslie Hanks,Colorado Right to Life, Denver
As I read this article, I thought about the millions spent by environmental groups to preserve life of endangered animals. Yet human life is of so little worth, they are murdered in the womb.

Re: ‘Call centre rape and murder stuns outsourcing industry’, Dec 22, 2005
This is a heinous crime and my heart goes out to the family. I hope women’s organisations, employers and employees take serious note and waste no time in providing a safe psychological and physical working environment for late night-shift workers. Women in India should realize that they are a valuable resource in today’s economy and be more proactive in demanding security in their jobs.

I am really astonished to hear this. If even big firms like HP is not free from this problem, how can women aspire to work in future? What will motivate people to work for a company even if it pays well? Money will not give us lives and safety.

Re: ‘Elderly Chinese exported to babysit grandkids overseas’, Dec 22, 2005
It’s always nice to see families reunited, but it’s not like many cannot get affordable childcare here. $3000 a month for a young baby is an exaggeration. Most foreign nannies work here for $8 per hour and cook and clean. That way the kids will be exposed to English also. Old people get ill, and of course will put added strains on our currently over-burdened health care system. In general, I don’t agree Canada should encourage seniors from abroad to come, for whatever reason.

Re: ‘Scientists to unravel teen Buddha mystery’, Dec 8, 2005
I would really like an update on this story. The fact that anyone could sit in meditation for so long for so many days straight is a miracle!
Kristi,Rome, Georgia
One should be careful calling a person ‘Buddha’. An "incarnation of Buddha" is misleading and defies who the Buddha really is. Since the Buddha is in Nirvana, he cannot be reincarnated. In Buddhism there is no incarnation. This concept, actually, is similar to the idea of transferring the fire of a candle to light another.

Re: ‘Meet Miss World-Canada 2005, Ramona Amiri’, Dec 22, 2005
I thought that Ramona should have won. Just look at her. Isn’t it obvious? She has a great personality and look at her background involving helping others. I think Ramona became a little nervous during her interview and it may have cost her. It should have been Ramona 1st, and Russia 2nd.... Mexico didn’t deserve to be placed so highly.

It’s about time that a Canadian of Middle Eastern decent has been granted the opportunity to represent the women of Canada to the world. Arab and Middle Eastern Canadians have been in Canada for over 100 years. Women from the Middle East are as smart and talented as they are beautiful. Ramona Amiri will bring a lot of pride to Canada with her title and her victory can be shared with everyone.

Re: ‘Kelsey Nichols crowned Miss Canada Teen Global of 2006’, Nov 24, 2005
I just wanted to say I went to high school with Kelsey and she is an amazing girl! Super friendly, not just to her closest friends but to anyone she meets. She has an amazing personality and if you were in a bad mood as soon as she comes along she just makes your day a lot better.

Re: ‘New pregnancy test makes Asia jittery’, Aug 11, 2005
The problem with the Acu-Gen test is that it appears to be giving the wrong gender again and again. As such, if a woman uses this incorrect test result to decide to abort her baby, a real tragedy has occurred.
