The CCAF organizes an annual exhibition of the works of its members. This year, they turned the exhibition into a juried event in four categories: Chinese painting, Western painting. Contemporary art and Chinese calligraphies. Prizes of $250 were given to the winners of each category.
The awards ceremony was held recently. The following winners were selected from the 73 works entered:
• Chinese painting – Ada Chu (first-prize winner); Donna Lui, Lucy Feng, Anna Su and Tim Wu (honorable mentions);
• Western painting – Yang Wu (first-prize winner); Regina Liao, Denis Huang, Peter Teo, Asia Yeh and Benjamin Lin (honorable mentions);
• Contemporary art – Ken Lin (first-prize winner); Ban Wei, Arabel Luk, Bernie Lee, Catherine Dong (honorable mentions);
• Chinese calligraphy – Richard Wong (first-prize winner); Qui-ye Fang, Edward Fontaine, Kinson Lu and Christine Ng (honorable mentions).
A total of 50 pieces, including the prize-winning works, will be shown at the Chinese Culture Centre Museum, 555 Columbia St., Vancouver, until Dec. 14.
