Is Symonds ready to play?

It seems that Cricket Australia (CA) has jumped the gun by including Andrew Symonds in the national squad for the two Tests against New Zealand, as sports psychologist Phil Jauncey has revealed that the all-rounder is still not mentally fit.
Jauncey, who was Symonds’ counsellor, said not to expect the champion all-rounder to be a saint overnight. Jauncey was on CA’s rehabilitation panel, which was monitoring Symonds’ performance.
“Don’t expect him to be a saint, he has been dealing with some issues and problems and they may crop up again in the future. Roy (Symonds) has made great progress in the last few months, but there are some fairly complex issues involved,” Jauncey was quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph.
Jauncey also said Symonds would find it a bit hard getting along with teammates. Symonds was named in a 13-man Australian squad for next week’s first Test at the Gabba.
“Any time you’ve been away from a side for a while there are issues,” he said.
