"Although we do make a mean butter chicken."Training : "Primarily have learned through family. My mother and my grandmother," says Jai. "If you love to eat," jokes Priya. Jai adds "it is the Canadian Manhattan, a melting pot!"Home Cooking Tip : "Buy fresh produce. Fresh meat. Buy fresh," the married couple of 5 years say together, almost n sync.Favorite snack food : Jai tends to lean towards a samosa. Priya usually goes for pander pakora’s.Favorite summer drink/food : "Lassi, all flavours," says Priya. Jai agrees although he prefers a mixture of mango, lychee, strawberry and banana."We also love pani puri," says Jai. "Which is flour cups filled with spicy water."
Secret Recipe
Aloo Tikki
Ingredients:
8 boiled/peeled potatoes
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp red chili powder 2 tsp fresh cilantro 4 tsp fresh peas (not in the pod) 1 tsp dried coriander powder (dhana) 6 tsp atta (whole wheat flour) Method: Mix all ingredients together Kneed with hands until fairly smooth Use cookie cutter to shape Either pan or deep fry in canola oil Serve with chutney
