In celebration of the 51st Year of Independence for Malaysia, the local Malaysian Community and the Consul General of Malaysia are hosting a National Day Golf Tournament and Dinner on Aug. 20.

The Malaysian Community in B.C. is an active group of people who are proud of their new Canadian home, but maintain their roots through participation in activities organized by the Malaysian Association of British Columbia.

The golf tournament will be held at Riverway Golf Club, 9001 Riverway Place, in Burnaby, starting at 10:30 a.m. All golfers are invited to participate and the general public is invited to attend the National Day Dinner and Golf Awards Ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Golden Swan Restaurant, 5380 Victoria Dr., Vancouver. Enjoy a 10-course Chinese seafood dinner, with refreshments and a chance to win raffle prizes including a return air ticket to Malaysia, courtesy of Malaysia Airlines.

Golf tournament including dinner is $120 per golfer. Dinner only is $40.
