Thailand

A group of 30 officials from Thailand's Ministry of Science and Technology is visiting Vancouver from June 19 to 21 to participate in the Bioenergy and Biomass Research Group (BBRG) at UBC on June 20, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Thailand has a considerable supply of biofuels and uses it widely even while exporting about eight million tonnes of rice a year. The Thai government is helping build the biofuels industry by reducing consumer taxes.

BBRG provides consultation and research services to biomass and bioenergy companies, as well as government departments interested in learning more about alternative fuels.
