China has honored movie stars Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Chow Yun-fat and classic films such as Fists of Fury and A Better Tomorrow in a commemorative stamp collection marking 100 years of Chinese cinema, media reports said.
"It's been a long time since I had a Chinese-language movie show in the mainland, but everyone still remembers me. "Thanks for giving face," Chow said, according to the Apple Daily. Chow is slated to appear in director Ann Hui's upcoming Chinese film My Aunt's Postmodern Life. Among the other 128 honored stars were Andy Lau, Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, Brigitte Lin, Cecilia Cheung, and the late Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung, the newspaper said. Oscar-nominated Farewell My Concubine, Hero, Happy Together and Infernal Affairs were among the films saluted.
The stamps bear production shots of the stars and come with their biographies, the report said. |
