How long have you been together? |
Since June 2005 |
How did you meet? |
I walked by her, smiled and said hi at the gay club which I was bartending. She saw this as an opportunity to pin me against the railing and try to make out with me. We met up the next day at the Gay Pride parade and had an amazing daytime date which turned into a night date, and she has been crazy about me ever since. |
He picked me up at a gay bar where he worked and I was partying with my gay friends, though I was too drunk to remember being picked up by him or giving him my number. Apparently I pinned him against a wall and we had a fascinating conversation. We officially met on the streets at a gay festival and we haven't parted since. |

What do you like the most about his culture?
The food (preserved egg congee with century egg) and the rich history--especially all the history depicted in kung fu movies. |
What do you like the most about his culture?
I love his family dynamics, they are all friends. They drink, play, and swear together all the time. There is no family hierarchy but the love and respect is still there. (Brewed some fine Welsh men and I got me one of 'em!)
What do you dislike or find peculiar about her culture?
The lack of Western manners--it always sounds like they're yelling at each other when they talk.
What do you dislike or find peculiar about his culture?
The way they speed talk in their thick Welsh accents. I can barely understand with their accents, let along the speed at which they talk.
How did you parents react to the relationship?
They adore her and her dorky ways. They think she is the sweetest girl I have ever brought home to them, and they have met all of my Asian girlfriends.
How did your parents react to the relationship?
My parents were more worried about the sexual relations stuff rather than the actual relationshi paspect. This is typical Asian culture--not being at home in your own bed at night is taboo in my traditional Asian family.
What is your favourite food or dish from her culture?
Dim sum all they way! I adore those yellow egg tarts and ha-gow (shrimp dumplings).
What is your favourite food or dish from his culture?
Can he be the dish? If not then I have never actually had Welsh food--perhaps because his family has been so influenced by Canadian culture.
