One-woman show details family life during first Gulf War

Award - winning new writing by Abhishek Majumdar, An Arrangement of Shoes, is a one-woman play performed by London based actor, Radhika Aggarwal. Set in an Indian railway colony during the first Gulf war, this piece paints a moving family portrait.

Originally, An Arrangement of Shoes was featured as part of London’s Tara Theatre #70/70 season. This season showcased 70 works to commemorate 70 years of independence of Pakistan and India. It also toured the 70th Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

On the eve of her grandfather's burial, Muslim storyteller Rukhsar searches through her memories to reconnect with her past, her grandfather and his shoes. This story is about family history, global history, and the wide-reaching consequences of war. Understated, endearing and at times funny; this is a rare gem not to be missed.
