Bollywood Under the Stars celebrates ninth year

South Asian Family Association presents the 1995 blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) with English subtitles on August 20 at Unwin Park in Surrey. The film celebrated its 20th anniversary recently. The first time the DDLJ was screened was in Stanley Park in 2009.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge focuses on importance of family with the notion of eternal love. The film features on-screen power-couple Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, the beloved Amrish Puri and the iconic scenery of Switzerland that Yash Chopra, and an unforgettable soundtrack. Raj, a rich, carefree second generation NRI (non-resident Indian) and Simran, the daughter of Chaudry Baldev Singh, meet during a month-long Eurotrip which ends in love.

DDLJ was a smash hit in Indian where it earned $32 million and overseas, which earned $4 million, making it the highest grossing Bollywood of the decade.

Bollywood Under the Stars is a free, family-oriented event. Guests are encouraged to come at 4:30pm with picnics, lawn chairs and blankets.
