BC Entertainment Hall of Fame announces 2016 inductees

The BC Entertainment Hall of Fame (BCEHOF) announced its 2016 BCEHOF inductees this past week.
Five new StarWalk Stars and 13 Pioneer Stars will join the 275+ previous inductees who have been recognized for their significant contribution to the province’s entertainment industry and cultural landscape.
The StarWalk inductees are individuals who have enhanced the province’s cultural profile, both locally and on the world stage. The 2016 StarWalk inductees are: Michael J. Fox, Marcus Mosely, Hal Beckett, Jazzy B and Joe Keithly.
The Pioneer inductees are those who have left an indelible mark on BC’s entertainment landscape and this year include: Musicians: George Calangis, Sharman King, Tom Lavin, Ian McDougall, Linda McRae and Tab Shori Dancer: Renee Cherrier, Producers: Rai Purdy, Steve Edge and the Filippone Brothers, Directors, Crawford Hawkins, Diane Loomer and Carole Tarlington
Jazzy B, or Jaswinder Singh Bains by his given name, is a Punjabi language Bhangra singer-songwriter. He was born in Durgapur, Punjab. When he was 5 years old, his family moved to Vancouver, Canada.
He has released 11 studio albums and collaborated on many tracks and two soundtracks. Bains is also known as the "Crown Prince of Bhangra".
Tab Shori was born to Indian and Tibetan parents in 1936 and lived for much of his life in the Kamloops region where he passed in 2011.
He attended Van Tech High and later graduated from Yuba City high school in California.
He was gifted at Spanish guitarist, played the drums and the saxaphone. He went on to become a wrangler and MC for the Bar Q Guest Ranch in Ashcroft. He later opened up Tab's nightclub in Kamloops which was known for hiring local bands.
StarWalk Star members are recognized with a featured star in the walk of fame on the Granville Street sidewalk in downtown Vancouver and in the StarWall photo Gallery in the historic Orpheum Theatre upper lobby and Pioneer Star members are acknowledged on the Orpheum Lobby Honour Plaque.
